We understanding starting a new role can be nerve-wracking, there is a lot of new information to absorb, people to meet and business processes to learn. It's totally normal to feel anxious, however preparing for your first day can make a big difference, here are our top tips:

  • Arrive 10-15 minutes early on your first day to give yourself some time to settle in to the new environment
  • Listen, observe and ask questions! Get a good understanding of the families, children and roles in the centre, and clarify anything you are unsure of as early as possible
  • Be yourself, let your experience and personality shine
  • Start a conversation with your coworkers when appropriate and let them know you are eager to get to know them
  • Approach your new role with a growth mindset - open your mind to new ways of thinking and working, see challenges as opportunities for growth and seek feedback from others

Finally, be kind to yourself as you settle in to your new role, plan some time for self-care, go for a walk, talk to a friend, take time to relax and unwind.

Remember: you've got this!

From everyone in the Talent Team and the broader G8 network

we wish you the best of luck!
