The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Procurement and Leasing, you’ll support the management of our extensive lease portfolio, working across lease negotiations, renewals, market rent reviews and commercial property matters.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to influence commercial outcomes, build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to G8 Education’s network growth and optimisation strategies.

You’ll be joining a collaborative team where your analytical skills, commercial knowledge and ability to manage competing priorities will make a real difference.

Your day-to-day

  • Manage and negotiate commercial lease terms, including renewals, rent reviews, new leases, assignments and lease surrenders.
  • Research and analyse rental market data to support negotiations, market reviews and commercial recommendations.
  • Work closely with landlords, property managers, valuers, legal representatives and internal stakeholders to achieve positive commercial outcomes.
  • Support network growth and optimisation initiatives, including new centre acquisitions, relocations, extensions and divestments.
  • Review lease obligations, outgoing costs and landlord charges to identify opportunities for cost savings and risk reduction.
  • Partner with our Facilities, Finance and Operations teams to resolve leasing queries and clarify landlord and tenant responsibilities.
  • Support the effective administration and ongoing improvement of our lease management systems and processes.

About You

You’re a confident communicator and skilled negotiator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You bring a commercial mindset, strong attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities across a large property portfolio.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Real Estate, Property Economics or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in commercial property, leasing or a similar corporate property role.
  • Sound knowledge of commercial leasing, property valuations and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience in lease negotiations, renewals and market rent reviews.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and provide practical recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at different levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
  • A current Australian driver's licence and the ability to obtain or maintain a valid Working with Children Check.
  • Experience in the early childhood education sector will be highly regarded but is not essential.
