The Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned procurement leader with a proven track record in strategic sourcing and risk management who brings both expertise and innovation to the role. Your strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills will be essential in collaborating with stakeholders and suppliers to secure high-value partnerships that drive G8's goals forward.
With a proactive approach to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) improvements, you will play a key role in aligning our procurement practices with the values at the heart of our organisation, ensuring sustainable and responsible sourcing across all operations.
Your day-to-day
No two days are the same; this role is diverse, with depth and breadth to cement your career, now and into the future. Areas of core responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Ensure compliance with G8’s procurement policies, systems, and processes, identifying continuous improvement opportunities
Develop and execute strategic sourcing and supplier performance strategies to meet G8’s goals
Delivering accurate and timely financial reporting including compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and to support dealings with investors, lenders and other stakeholders
Contribute to the financial planning process to deliver robust forecasts and budgets
Monitor and mitigate procurement-related risks, actively working to reduce the environmental and social impacts of our procurement footprint
Lead high-impact supplier negotiations, securing optimal value while managing associated risks
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct regular supplier audits, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records on G8’s approved supplier list
Support initiatives to drive continuous improvement across the procurement function and manage relevant risk registers
About You
You thrive in a fast-paced and engaging work environment, valuing strong partnerships, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence. In this key leadership role, you will develop and implement sourcing strategies that maximise the value of our third-party spend, ensuring quality, reliability, and minimal supply risk. You will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to optimise procurement practices, fostering strong supplier relationships and contributing to G8’s ESG objectives.
To achieve this, we recommend the following experience.
10+ years’ experience in a Procurement role with at least 5 years leading procurement teams
Proven experience in strategic sourcing or supplier management
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
A high level of discipline to enact and maintain deadlines in accordance with agreed timeframes
Excellent organisational skills, time management and follow up skills
Hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid working with children check
