The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner to join our Digital Solutions Team!
The Product Owner (Financial Operations) is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and management of financial operations systems within the organisation. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that FinOps systems are optimised, compliant, and aligned with the company's strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance and technology, with extensive experience in managing and enhancing financial operations systems.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Product Manager to define the vision and roadmap for FinOps systems in alignment with organisational goals.
Oversee the entire lifecycle of FinOps systems, including development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with wider digital solutions and finance teams to integrate new technologies and enhance existing systems.
Work closely with finance, wider digital solutions and other departments to gather requirements and ensure FinOps systems meet business needs.
Serve as the primary point of contact for any issues or enhancements related to FinOps systems.
Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to review system performance and gather feedback.
Ensure that FinOps systems comply with relevant financial regulations and standards.
Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and implement necessary system adjustments.
Ensure accurate, timely, and secure data management and reporting.
Lead projects related to the implementation and upgrade of FinOps systems.
Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Provide training and support to users of FinOps systems.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
At least 5 years of experience in financial operations systems management or a related role.
Strong understanding of finance principles and financial systems.
Experience with product management methodologies and tools.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to financial systems.
Experience with ERP systems, CRM software, and other financial technology solutions.
Hold a valid working with children check or willingness to obtain upon commencement.
Certification in project management or product management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, CSPO) is desirable.
Experience with cloud-based financial systems and technologies is desirable.
