The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at The Learning Sanctuary Mary Street in the heart of the Brisbane CBD to produce high quality, nutritious meals both hot and cold and snacks for up to 90 children each day. There is also have a breakfast bar for families to grab a quick bite to eat on their way to work each day, showcasing our four week rotating menu. The Centre has a spacious kitchen that allows for a bustling hub of culinary activity, with adorned stainless -steel appliances, and an array of neatly organised utensils and is located 7 minutes away from Central station and a 2minute walk away from the nearest bus stop

This role is Full-Time working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday 6.30am to 2.30pm.

At capacity our Centre caters for up to 90 children with operating hours from 6.30am to 6.30pm.

About You

• Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
• Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements. 
• Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
• Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
• Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday

Successful Applicants must hold

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
• A current Working with Children’s Check / Blue Card / DCSI Clearance and First Aid
• Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
