The Opportunity
The Insurance Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Group’s insurance program, including managing notifications and claims, coordinating renewal and ensuring ongoing value for money and the continual improvement of G8’s insurance program. The Insurance Specialist role is well-suited for candidates with experience as a Senior Paralegal or in Conveyancing.
Your day-to-day
No two days are the same; this role is diverse, with depth and breadth to cement your career, now and into the future. Areas of core responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Maintain and periodically review, as appropriate, G8’s Insurance Management Framework, including the Insurance Manual, to ensure the ongoing compliance with the Company’s insurance requirements and details of the Company’s insurance program.
Day-to-day management of insurance claims, notifications and event risk assessments to ensure the Group meets the insurer’s requirements and optimises its insurance outcomes.
Establish strong relationships with the Company’s insurance broker, insurers and insurers’ advisors, as appropriate.
Coordinate the Company’s annual insurance renewal program, working closely with relevant internal stakeholders, the Deputy General Counsel and Chief Legal, Quality and Risk Officer and the Company’s insurance broker as appropriate.
Manage the collation of annual renewal information and completion of declarations to ensure comprehensive and accurate disclosure to prospective insurers.
Maintain a detailed insurance claims register to provide quality analytics in order to assess the insurance programs adequacy and allow accurate reporting internally and to insurers as required.
Engage in discussions with landlords and other third parties to achieve the optimal outcomes for G8, including negotiations directly with landlords and landlord insurers to remediate damage at G8 leased premises.
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Effectively communicate, educate and provide insurance guidance to all stakeholders.
About You

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experiences:
At least 2 years’ experience in insurance claims and policy management in a corporate in-house environment.
Ability to prioritise and complete multiple competing priorities.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent work ethic and time management skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage professionally across the business.
Hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid working with children check
