The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst / Engineer to join our team on a fixed-term basis to support a new data ingestion project. This initiative involves working with APIs to ingest complex datasets that require significant analytical reconciliation, and the ability to produce thorough audit documentation.
The aim of this project is to deliver valuable insights that enable the business to make informed decisions regarding workforce management and employee experience. The role will enable you to provide detailed analysis and strategic recommendations related to HRIS and Payroll Data, including employee operations, compensation, benefits and workforce development.
This role is Full-Time on a maximum term contract for 12months.
Your day-to-day
No two days are the same; this role is diverse, with depth and breadth to cement your career, now and into the future. Areas of core responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate with existing Data Analysts to understand business use and reporting of the data involved in this project, as well as the calculations involved in producing necessary reporting.
Analyse and validate complex datasets to ensure they meet quality standards and business requirements.
Perform detailed reconciliations between source data and ingested data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Apply mathematical and problem-solving principles to verify the accuracy and consistency of data
Develop solutions for integrating data into a Microsoft Fabric environment, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
Design and build robust data ingestion pipelines.
Work with the team to optimise ingestion processes and troubleshoot technical issues related to data pipelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders, to understand project goals and data requirements.
Ensure all documentation adheres to organisational and regulatory standards.
About You

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experiences:
SQL and Python/Pyspark ability required
Proven experience (10+ years) in an analytical role with experience in similar projects.
Proven experience and understanding of data ingestion pipelines, as well as experience extracting data through APIs
Audit knowledge and understanding of how to document a complex reconciliation, as well as work within a project framework
High attention to detail
High level understanding of data and experience in extracting, integrating, manipulating and displaying data from various systems using automation where possible
Well-developed communication/presentation skills at all levels of the business
Hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid working with children check
