The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Facilities team as a National Facilities Manager, following an internal promotion. We’re seeking a talented, professional, and capable leader to step into this pivotal role.
The National Facilities Manager is responsible for leading G8 Education’s Facility Management team and operations across our centre and Support Office network. This role ensures the delivery of a safe, compliant, and fit-for-purpose environment for children, families, and team members, reflecting our commitment to Safety, First and Always.
As a key member of the Property Leadership Team, the National Facilities Manager plays a strategic role in shaping the facilities function, mentoring team members, fostering a high-performance culture, and driving alignment with G8’s values and organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and continuously improve facilities management strategies and processes.
Oversee day-to-day maintenance and minor refurbishment activities across the network.
Manage contractor and supplier performance through structured monitoring and reporting frameworks.
Ensure compliance with all applicable standards, schedules, and quality requirements.
Optimise the use of CMMS and other systems to enhance efficiency and reporting.
Lead and develop a high-performing, engaged Facilities team aligned with G8’s purpose and values, inspiring everyone to thrive together through collaboration, respect, and shared success.
Ensure strong internal communication between the Facilities team, Centre leadership, and Support Office teams.
Manage the facilities budget, ensuring alignment with annual targets and cost control strategies.
Provide timely and accurate reporting on budget performance, forecasts, and capital expenditures.
Partner with procurement to optimise supplier agreements and achieve value-for-money outcomes.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or service quality.
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and G8’s safety management systems, embodying the principle of Safety, First and Always.
About You
Qualification in Facilities Management, Project Management in Construction or similar
Project Manager Accreditation.
Proven experience in a senior facilities management role, ideally in a multi-site or corporate environment.
Strong understanding of preventative maintenance, repairs, and minor refurbishment project delivery.
Demonstrated ability to manage contracts, budgets, and supplier relationships effectively.
Experience in work order management systems and facilities management software.
Knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management in a facilities context.
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop teams.
High level of organisation, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience reporting to senior stakeholders.
Hold a valid working with children check or willingness to obtain upon commencement.
