The Power of Purpose

At G8, we are one team of close to 10,000 passionate and supportive team members who are dedicated to a clear purpose, creating the foundations for learning for life.

This purpose is the driving force for our people, it inspires us and gives us a sense of belonging, a sense of being part of something meaningful.

10,000 people who all feel connected to a common purpose, that's powerful.

Embrace your 'why'

A career is more than just a job, it can provide personal fulfilment, stability and a sense of belonging.

Before attending an interview, it's important to be really clear on what is important to you in your career and why? Finding a role that aligns to your interests, aspirations and values will assist you in building a more meaningful and fulfilling career.

At G8 Education, we have five core values:

Avatar: John Orr John Orr Talent Acquisition Manager

"Be your authentic self at the interview. We have a diverse and varied workforce and need to ensure we are reflective of the communities we work and play in. It’s important that we meet the real you and take the time together to understand what you are looking for and what we can offer you."

Make a great first impression

  • Arrive on time and in interview appropriate attire.
  • Come prepared! Have a good understanding of why you have applied to the role and what skills and experience you bring to the team!
  • Be ready to ask questions - interviews are about finding a good match, for both yourself and the hiring manager.

During the interview

  • Try to get to know the person interviewing you a little better. Building a rapport at the start of the interview will help put you at ease and think clearer about your responses.
  • Take your time to think of the right example when responding to questions and remember it's ok to ask your interviewer to repeat or reframe the question if needed.
  • Try to be mindful of body language, we understand interviews can be dauting but try to maintain eye contact and avoid slouching or fidgeting if possible.

After the interview

  • Hopefully you walk away from the interview excited and the role feels like a good fit! Now is a good time to reflect on your interview experience and write down anything you wish to remember.
  • Consider sending a thank you message, note or email to the hiring manager.
  • Send any supporting documents that were requested to the TA team as soon as possible.

Stay positive! The Talent Team will be in contact with you within a few days of the interview to confirm the outcome.

Tips from our People

Avatar: Jodie Bellchambers Jodie Bellchambers Talent Team

"Come prepared with questions and "show" instead of tell your interviewer about your knowledge, achievement's and passion for the role.  We love to hear your positive stories about working in the sector."

My number one tip for starting your career with G8 is to show us what motivates you to be in ECEC. Seeing educators and teachers who are passionate about what they do really fills my cup.
