Teaching For Tomorrow: Semann & Slattery
Semann & Slattery, one of Australia’s leading professional development providers in the early childhood education sector, has a long and strong partnership with G8 Education. Our current program, Teaching for Tomorrow, has been developed exclusively for our teachers. Developed by Anthony Semann, this program takes teachers on a journey of educational discovery to enact change and deliver exceptional outcomes for children and families. The program introduces our teachers to a developmental framework that unpacks the key domains across the teaching profession. From there our teachers dive deep into compelling topics that focus on pedagogical transformation, thought leadership and curriculum development. Between workshops, teachers participate in collaborative action learning groups, exploring practice and work through new concepts and ideas.
As an ECT, I find the frame works such a positive and powerful tool to guide and support our practices, beliefs’, ongoing learning and overall teaching – both with the children and also with our co-educators. As an ECT who has worked in Early childhood for such a long time it is refreshing to have a document that is specifically designed for our role, reinforcing our value and commitment to our role. It reassures me that I am a well rounded teacher and have a lot to offer but also know there is always more to learn which is what I love about this sector. The room for personal and professional growth is endless. The T4T course has really provided a great opportunity for ECT’s to come together and not only learn more in depth about the frameworks and the influence it has on our teaching but also to network and make contacts we did not have before.
Early Childhood Teacher,
Community Kids Chirnside Park, VIC
Being a part of T4T workshop has been an absolute pleasure and a great opportunity for all G8 ECT’s to come together on a platform which commits to the growth of teachers in regards to their pedagogical practices and establishing a culture of reflective practices. Through this developmental framework for teachers we as ECT’s are clearly able to focus on each domain individually and monitor our own practices and the ways we can support our colleagues. This framework has been an eye opener for me in my professional journey as I can see my strengths and focus on the areas that require more growth. I look forward the next session.

It’s fantastic being a facilitator on the T4T program as part of the teachers with G8 Education. One of the things I’m loving about working with this document is the opportunity it provides teachers to delve deeply into thinking about their practice and to drive their own learning. It is an exceptional way to think about how we can move through each of the phases of the self-review tool to consider how I can deepen and strengthen not just my own learning and thinking but the effect that it has on the outcomes for my classroom.
